Unfortunately, while electrifying, her performance led to a heft fine due to it extending past the designated time. Coachella faced a $28,000 fine from the city of Indio for Rey's set running 13 minutes over its allotted time.

Despite the hefty fine, a representative from the city noted that it’s not the first instance of such fines at Coachella. Last year, the festival faced $117,000 in fines for similar curfew violations. Reportedly, the festival is supposed to end by 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, and by midnight on Sunday.

However, the festival went over 22 minutes on Friday and 25 minutes on Saturday and Sunday. The fines stem from a contract between the city of Indio and Goldenvoice, the organizers behind Coachella.

This agreement specifies that exceeding the curfew by five minutes incurs a daily penalty of $20,000. Additionally, each minute beyond that five-minute mark carries a fine of $1,000 per minute.

Despite the challenges, Rey's fans remain unwavering in their support, celebrating her compelling stage presence. One enthusiast proclaimed that Rey could extend her set "because she can." Meanwhile, another fan expressed admiration, saying, "She rules." Yet another described her as "stunning and brave."
